About

I have a confession to make: I’ve never been very good at routine. And when it came to sleep, my routine used to be terrible. I would go to bed too late, giving me only six hours or so of shut-eye a night, if that. I’d be looking at my phone and answering emails directly before going to bed (sometimes even in bed). I’d have busy thoughts running through my head, stopping me from dropping off. And, as parents of young kids, my wife and I would be regularly woken up by the kids in the night. I was frequently exhausted. There was no dramatic breaking point; I didn’t have a melt-down in the office or find myself in the middle of Waitrose holding a bag of frozen peas with no idea how I got there. I just realised one day that it could all be so much better than this. As a business owner, I realised it was up to me to learn and put in place various routines to help me grow my business, enhance my success and generally live a more abundant life. So I decided to become my own performance coach, and improve aspects of my routine and personal development that would deliver that success. Sleep has been a critical part of this journey. As we’ll see in this course, the amount, and quality, of sleep we get significantly affects our physical and mental performance throughout the day, as well as our overall physical and mental health. Most of us know this already. And we also know many of the common-sense ways to better manage our sleep. Yet so many of us continue to ignore this vital aspect of our lives, just like I used to. I ’ve now become evangelical about good sleep and have perfected my own sleep routine that works a treat. And I’ve discovered some amazing tools and gadgets to help in getting to sleep, sleeping comfortably through the night, and waking up at the optimum time, all of which I’ll share in this course. This practical guide is designed to help you become more aware of your sleep and its effects, and then improve your performance and wellbeing.
